The sandalwood comes from a plantation in Sri Lanka that has collaborated with Dior for more than 10 years and the very special agricultural methods give Dior Sauvage Parfum some exceptionally rich nuances. Since the sandalwood is a difficult plant to grow the plantation is constantly monitored during the first stages of the plant's life. Therefore the plant is set free in a 100% wild plantation where nature is allowed to take its course. In this harsh natural environment without human interference each tree is allowed to grow and fight for its survival. Some of them live up to 100 years old and more than 12 meters high! It is precisely this that gives Sauvage its rare sandalwood scent.
