Pure graphite and natural binders are the valuable ingredients of LYRA Rembrandt Art Design. The perfect grinding of the graphite enables a defined quick and smooth stroke. As a professional drawing utensil Rembrandt Art Design is available in a wide range of hardnesses to produce blacks with exceptional depth and delicate greys. The softer hardness grades bring the natural shine of the graphite to the fore. The compactness of the leads makes it possible to obtain perfect and well-defined tips. LYRA Rembrandt Art Design pencils are made from PEFC certified cedar wood. This ensures sustainable forest management. With a diameter of 6.9 mm the hexagonal pencils fit comfortably in the hand making sketches drawings or illustrations effortless to realise. LYRA Rembrandt Graphite Aquarell Graphite Watercolour consists of pure graphite in high concentration vegetable binder and soluble components and can be used for drawings in which the application is blended with thinning to achieve special chiaroscuro effects. The natural sheen of the graphite is enhanced by the delicate transparency of typical watercolour veils. The application can be easily thinned with a little water and a soft brush. The degrees of hardness of the leads facilitate the transition from dense dark areas to delicate light and transparent shades of grey. The concentration of the graphite is high so that the full shade appears opaque and rich the fine grinding helps to achieve absolute transparency. It can be sharpened with a sharpener with a large hole and can be removed perfectly even when using the softest grades.The round barrel made of natural grey matt lacquered cedar wood protects the 3.8 mm diameter lead. It is used on watercolour paper of different compositions and grain sizes. Graphite watercolour does not require fixing per se but it is recommended when using the softer grades.
