Due to faulty electronics the lens will not be able to communicate with the camera or start properly. When the lens is mounted on the camera it draws power from the battery and the IS can be heard attempting to start however the lens will not function and will actually cause the camera to freeze completely. For these reasons the item is being sold as spares and repairs.
