Astronomy was of vital importance to the Vikings. Their knowledge of the constellations planets and stars not only helped them navigate the oceans and conquer the known world it was also at the core of their veneration of the gods and the dead. We call our mouse mats Shields and we name the Shields in honor of the stars constellations and planets known to our ancestors.
