The Viking shield is with Harald wherever he travels. The shield is usually mounted on the railing of the Viking ship Ragna so the crew is protected against hostile attacks. When Harald's crew goes ashore they take the shield with them so they can always defend themselves. The shield is constructed of beech planks held together by an iron edge and a round iron dome. The shield's motif is Harald himself in combat with Ragna's mythical figurehead the Midgard serpent which is rumored to reside in the world's oceans. The product is 35 x 35 cm.
