The first large illustration by Jan van Haasteren dates back to 1975. The “Shooting Pool” drawing created a high demand for this type of advertising posters. The posters were very popular and in 1980 Jumbo decided to release one as a jigsaw puzzle. This turned out to be a great success making Shooting Pool the founding puzzle of the now - famous puzzle brand. With the Oldtimers series we look back at the early period of Jan van Haasteren jigsaw puzzles. It’s a little bit of nostalgia and above all a tribute to the incredible craftsmanship of Jan van Haasteren.
