'The Secret Ministerial Archives in Berlin (1838-1874). Main Department of the archive. As Prussia's central authority the Generaldirektorium was responsible for the country's financial economic and domestic policy from 1723 to 1808. The documents also retained great value for the successor authorities so that the Secret Ministerial Archive was established. The history of this archive which was headed by the historian Adolf Friedrich Johann Riedel is dedicated to developments in the history of administration holdings and archives in 19th century European archives.
