The history of Porsche begins electrically: in 1893 Ferdinand Porsche brought the future to his parents' house with a lighting system. In 1898 he designed his first electric vehicle with rear-wheel drive. His steerable wheel hub drive which he presented in 1900 in a Lohner Porsche electric vehicle in Paris was marketable. In the same year he created the world's first functional hybrid vehicle. Under the heading Intelligent Performance Porsche took up the idea again in 2010.
