The German Inklings Gesellschaft is dedicated to the discussion and dissemination of the works of these authors and of writers commonly associated with them and to the study of the fantastic in literature film and the arts in general. The proceedings of the annual Inklings conferences have been published in yearbooks since 1983. This volume contains the 9 papers presented at the 2011 conference in Leipzig The Other Conan Doyle which concentrated on the author of science fiction and fantastic stories and the defender of the British Empire rather than on the creator of Sherlock Holmes.
