This book is the result of an extensive project using photographs taken by GDR border troops in 1988 and 1989 and comparing them with photographs of modern Berlin. Aerial photographs from the same periods complement the collection to make a unique panorama of the Berlin Wall and enable the reader to trace the historic change in the Berlin cityscape. Over 200 photos and maps - photographic material of the death strip published for the first time.
