Kuno Francke (1855 - 1930) was a German-born educator and historian. Most of his career was spent at Harvard University where he became a professor of history and German culture and curator of the Germanic Museum. Francke edited a famous collection of German classic literature whose first two volumes are concerned with one of the greatest German authors - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Volume 1 contains a selection of important poems - like The Erl-King and Mahomet's Song - and the both dramas Iphigenie in Tauris and Faust (part I and II). Reprint of the original edition of the year 1915.
